Robert B. Parker veröffentlichte in den 80ern 2 Klanggedichte, auch Sonetten genannt.

Eines davon war "A Spensarian Sonnet", dass aus Spenser's Perspektive geschrieben war. Unser aller liebster Detektiv schrieb in diesem kurzen Gedicht, wie könnte es anders sein, über Susan. Geschrieben hat Parker die Sonnete im Jahr 1983. Veröffentlicht wurde es noch im gleichen Jahr auf der John Lord Press in limitierter Auflage von nur 100 Stück. 1988 publizierte man es zum 2. Mal und auch hier war es nur in limitierter Auflage erhältlich.

One of them was "A Spensarian Sonnet" that of Spenser's perspective was written. Our favorite of all the detective wrote in this short poem, how could it be otherwise, about Susan. Parker has written Sonnete in 1983. It was published in the same year at the Lord John Press in a limited edition of only 100 pieces. 1988 published it for the 2 Time and again it was only available in limited quantities.

Susan's gaze, a loving basilisk,
Transfixes me in vital glare
And I, by passion caught at risk
Seethe motionless, the captive of a stare.
Yet widely in this narrow snare
I arch above eternity
While she stays firmly there
A tether caught on certainty.
It is freely sought captivity,
The only kind to choose,
The rest a barren litany
Of nothing left to lose.
For only in her compass am I entirely me,
And only caught forever, am I entirely free.

Das zweite Gedicht hieß "Some Celtics" und war ein Tribute für die Celtics Spieler aus vergangenen Tagen. Dieses kurze Gedicht erschien nur einmal (1986) und hatte eine Auflage von 100 Stück. Mit dabei beim Gedicht, waren auch Bilder zu den Basketballspielern.

Some Celtics

The second poem was called "Some Celtics" and was a tribute to the Celtics players of yesteryear. This short poem appeared only once (1986) and had a print run of 100 pieces. With this the poem were also pictures of the basketball players.
